NEPAD and eSchools project

Talk with Ahmed Kassam (employed by Microsoft but seconded as Special Advisor on Education Business Development to NEPAD)about the proposal for the eSchools project in Africa: using the broadcast possibilities of satellite radio, the idea is to permit schools to download lessons and programmes during low-peak periods and make them available when teachers are not. It is not a realistic long-term solution to lack of educational infrastructure and teachers, but the relative simplicity of the infrastructure makes it a useful stop-gap.
