Universal Data Element Framework and semantic equivalency

This white paper describes an approach for defining semantic equivalency within XML or other document formats (such as idocs, RDF, Schema, HTML and related metadata).

The Universal Data Element Framework (UDEF) is based on ISO 11179 metadata standards, and is moving towards international standards body adoption.

This approach is also gaining momentum within industry association e-business groups, and we believe that it can have broad applicability to HTML for the purpose of more accurately identifying metadata in web pages and for search engines.

There is an active mail list for those interested. Archive is at http://www.topica.com/lists/udef.builders/read
