Web sites as resources

Tim Bray started off an interesting thread on the W3C TAG mailing list.
I’ll return to this problematic regularly: I’m convinced that the so-called “web architecture” has a fatal flaw with its lack of precision in the concept of a “resource”. If this foundation isn’t strong enough, it will not be able to support the architecture that W3C envisages in the long term.
