Stone Soup

A hungry traveller arrives in a village and asks around for food. She is initially refused until she says that she has a stone with which she can make excellent soup.
She is offered some water which she boils and adds the stone.
A few villagers start to gather, curious to taste the traveller’s soup. Before allowing anyone to taste it, however, she calmly remarks that it might taste even better with some other ingredients.
One brought some potatoes; another some scraps of meat, others brought different vegetables and herbs.
Before long, the soup became a most wondrous concoction and everyone in the village enjoyed it, including the traveller who had actually come with nothing…
Moral: Sometimes when you are feeling empty handed, simply bringing an idea will act as a catalyst to a fruitful collaborative effort.
